Dr. Jon Weldon has built his career around developing engaging, inclusive educational practices for diverse communities. Whether that is in a classroom in West Africa or at a university in the Arab Gulf region, his background spans continents, educational levels, institutional systems, and disciplines.
He is passionate about teaching writing, breaking down the creative process, and empowering students to find their voice, regardless of their starting point. With over 20 years of experience in education, he brings a diverse teaching background that spans secondary education, inclusive instruction for marginalized learners, university-level teaching, and graduate mentoring.
He specializes in bridging traditional writing pedagogy with innovative technology, offering professional development on using AI in the classroom for both secondary and higher education.
His services focus on designing AI-integrated syllabi that prioritize accessibility, implementing scalable writing assessment tools that meet diverse learner needs, and fostering strategies for responsible, ethical AI use that uplifts critical thinking and equity. This work grows naturally from his commitment to inclusive education: he’s spent decades refining approaches to individualized writing, curriculum design, and creating spaces where students of all abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles can thrive.
He holds a PhD in English from Lancaster University, a Masters in Educational Leadership from George Washington University, and a BA in Humanities and Art from Stanford University.
